The National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) celebrates its 27th Annual NAHP Convention and Business Expo in San Diego, California in October 2012! The annual convention brings together Hispanic publishers of newspapers, magazines and online publications from throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia as well as professional colleagues from the Asociacion of Mexicana de Editores de Periodicos (AME) from Mexico.  The convention offers forums that explore best practices, research findings, advertising innovations, online strategies, business development and ways to integrate new and social media.  Cutting-edge workships and lectures provide educational content for both publishing veterans and newcomers serving a rapidly-growing Hispanic audience.  The convention also presents over 100 Jose Marti Awards to publications at each major event and the overall winners are announced at the Gala Awards Dinner.

The NAHP is seeking partners and sponsorships from those who wish to establish or maintain a  relationship with the NAHP,  meet member publishers and support the industry. The sponsorship levels provide corporations, federal agencies and non-government organizations with varied benefit packages that can be customized "to highlight your support to the industry.

The 2011 Convention featured The Honorable Arturo Sarukhan, Ambassador from Mexico; Former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Antonia Novello; noted author Juana Bordas; and noted actor Edward James Olmos.

The National Hispanic Press Foundation (NHPF) holds its  annual Student Voices in Media Day, a journalism/publishing boot camp for university and high school students during the NAHP convention.  This youth development program is a flagship of the foundation.  The one-day hands-on journalism training is held during the NAHP Annual Convention and Business Expo.  Students learn the different facets of producing and publication and also learn about the sales and marketing of a publication by NAHP members, professors and area experts.  Students actively participate in editroial planning, writing, photography, design and layout of the pubicaion.  The NHPF will also hold a golf tournament, in honor of founder Eddie Escobedo, Sr., to raise funds for scholarships and internships.
